Why I Started Cosplay

When I was 12 I was first introduced to anime. Due to the territory that surrounds anime, cosplay has been on my radar since then. When I first saw cosplayers online I thought they were so interesting. I would say things like "How did they make this? It's beautiful!" or "They look just like the show!" and it made me want to be someone that others thought was skilled and beautiful. My first cosplay was made for Halloween and it was the marionette from FNAF 2. It was just a poorly painted mask and a black shirt and pants but I still had others come up to me and tell me how excited they were to see a character they loved so much in the flesh. While that moment made me happy, it didn't really fuel my passion. I only threw myself into the medium when I was in my sophomore year of college and was introduced to the person who was able to teach me everything I knew. Knowing that there was someone behind me and understood my passions made me want to keep creating and making people smile with my skills and dramatics.
